El Dorado County Recreation

For those who treasure the outdoors, El Dorado County is a great place to be. The county boasts a number of first class facilities for many types of outdoor fun.

First, there are the great state parks. Much of our Western border consists of the fabulous Folsom Lake Recreation Area. In the Northwest portion of the county we enjoy the Auburn State Recreation Area.

In addition to these State facilities, residents can enjoy a variety of fine county parks as well. Those who long for an even more rugged outdoors experience will enjoy the desolation forest offered by the El Dorado National Forest. Collectively, our many parks offer outstanding facilities for camping, whitewater rafting, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, boating, mountain biking, and many other activities.

To hit the powder and leave those hot Sacramento summers behind, on our eastern borer lay Nevada and the terrific skiing of Lake Tahoe.
