Top Rated El Dorado County Schools
El Dorado County generally has top rated schools in general. Of course, you
should definitely check the most current research and listings for the area you're
interested in. When we moved here my wife and I did fairly extensive research,
and that's how we came to live in Cameron Park. Most of what I've seen since
then suggests the ratings are still good. There are excellent public schools
here, as well as many fine charter schools and public schools. Perhaps even
more highly rated are the quality of the schools in El Dorado Hills, which is
one of the reasons why homes there are often some of the more highly priced in
the area. (Please note, however, that for shoppers with some patience who are
willing to do their footwork there are still "bargains " to be had in El Dorado
Hills as well. A personal relationship with one of our preferred realtors
coupled with our e-mail
listing service are great tools to make this happen).
Of course, when we moved here doing all that research meant calling around to
schools and the El Dorado County School Department and hours of labor. Though
it's still a great idea to see the schools and interview teachers in person, so
much of the material for your preliminary work is now available on line. Online
Resources
-
The general web site for the El
Dorado County Office of Education is a great place to get started.
-
Another resource my clients find extremely helpful is the GreatSchools.Net site.
Here is their page for El
Dorado County Schools, or you can widen your search to all California
Schools. Once there you can click on the various cities and towns you are
interested in researching.
-
One resource that isn't free but seems reasonably priced is the American
School Directory. If a few people request it by writing
to me, I may try to partner with that site and make that information
available on line. Meantime if you have any experience with that site I'd be
interested in hearing it.

Interested in information about state wide standards and testing? The California
Department of Education site may be able to help get you what you need. Also
be sure to check out the site for California
STAR (Standardized Testing And Reporting).
As a parent myself, I know how important it is for you to find the right school
system. Whoever you work with as a Realtor, you should know that it's sometimes
difficult for Realtors to predict whether a given house falls inside a given
school district. Even the school district will sometimes fail to give you the
right information (that happened to us when we bought). If you're working with
me or one of my preferred Real Estate partners, you can always make your final
offer contingent on more information, and we'll be happy to call some of the
neighbors around the house you're interested in to see what they think of their
school system. Sure, it's not a guarantee, but it's always better to have more
information where our kids are concerned. (Please note -- be sure if you want
us to do this for you that you let us know -- we're happy to do it, but by request.) |
